Neocarbonix for Li-ion Battery Cathodes

Please provide quantitative answers to mechanical properties of Neocarbonix? (ex. adhesion of electrode to current collector)

Our in house tape tests show adhesion force of 150-155 N/m when the active material is at 97% weight ratio. Compared to 160N/m of PVDF based cathode with 94% active material weight ratio.

While this number is lower, the electrodes are still compatible with mass manufacturing process. Moreover the electrical connection with the current collector does not greatly depend on the mechanical connection (as opposed to binder based electrodes).

We are working on improving this number, and we have a roadmap to match the adhesion strength of PVDF based cathodes.
