About Us
Nanoramic® is an industry-leading energy storage innovator creating solutions based on nanotechnology. Spun out of MIT in 2009, Nanoramic is the exclusive inventor, designer manufacturer and licenser of Neocarbonix® at the Core electrodes for rechargeable Li-ion batteries, Li-ion capacitors, and supercapacitors.
Through this technology, Nanoramic is transforming energy storage for electric vehicles: increasing range, while reducing charge time, costs, and CO2 emissions. Today, Nanoramic works with some of the largest automakers and battery manufacturers to develop and commercialize batteries made with Neocarbonix at the Core. Nanoramic has also demonstrated success bringing technology out of the lab and into industry with ultracapacitors, polymer-based composites, and thermal interface materials.

Tony Posawatz
Tony Posawatz is President and CEO of Invictus iCAR, focusing on automotive-tech company advancement. Tony was formerly the Executive-in-Charge of Global Electric Vehicle Development & Vehicle Line Director, Chevrolet Volt at General Motors. He also served as the President and CEO of Fisker Automotive.
Whitney Ward
Whitney Ward has been a founder and leader in the financial services and real estate industries. Whitney was a Global Partner with Invesco and was a co-founder of Invesco Realty Advisors, one of the top 10 real estate advisory firms in the United States with assets of over $92B. He founded Invesco Global Strategies, a subsidiary offering global stock and bond asset allocation portfolios designed for large institutional investors. Whitney was a founding board member of Meg Energy in Calgary, serving for 12 years until going public in 2010 at a market cap of $9.7B. Whitney also founded Resort Ventures West, acquiring all the real estate assets of Steamboat Ski Resort from American Ski Company, and developed Wildhorse Marketplace and Wildhorse Meadows. Whitney served and continues to serve on the boards of various nonprofit organizations and companies across multiple industries.
Vivek Agastya
Vivek is Senior Vice President at Fortistar. Founded in 1993, Fortistar is a privately owned investment firm focused on accelerating the transition to a lower carbon future with extensive experience in the Power, Transportation, and Industrial sectors as well as the technologies evolving them.
Ken Morikawa
Mr. Morikawa is the Chairman and CEO of Marubun Arrow USA. Strategically focused with exceptional leadership skills, Mr. Morikawa is effective at forming high-performance teams and leading change in a competitive business environment. He developed a career at a large corporation and has start-up company experience. Ken is particularly knowledgeable in the consumer communication and automotive market segment.
Ben Kendig
Prior to investing in Nanoramic, Ben Kendig worked in the real estate and the bridge financing business where he built, operated, and sold large projects. Prior to his success in real estate, Mr. Kendig served in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War. He holds a BS from the University of SUNY Old Westbury, and an MS from the University of Rochester.
Eric Kish
Prior to joining Nanoramic®, Eric had 20 years experience as Chief Executive Officer, transforming organizations at various stages of development in 5 industries across 3 continents. He holds an M.Sc. in Business from Stanford Business School and an M.Sc. in Power Electronics from the Polytechnics of Bucharest

John Cooley
Founder, President
Dr. Cooley founded Nanoramic® in 2009 where he has led the strategy and execution of Nanoramic's® product lines. He is an expert in power systems, electronics, and energy storage applications.
Nicolo Brambilla
Chief Technology Officer
Nicolò joined Nanoramic® in 2010 and currently serves as Chief Technology Officer. He is an expert in energy storage technologies and nanotechnologies.
Matt Fenselau
Chief Licensing Officer and General Counsel
Matt came to Nanoramic® after a decade in a large law firm practice, where he specialized in intellectual property transactions, patent strategy and portfolio development, and emerging technologies.
Julie Ross
Chief Financial Officer
Julie joined Nanoramic ® in 2017. She began her career at Price Waterhouse Coopers in the Wealth Management Tax Group and holds a B.S. in Accounting from Bentley University. Julie holds a CPA designation with the MA Board of Public Accountancy.
Eli Cohen
Executive Vice President of Corporate Development
As EVP of Corporate Development, Eli works to establish strategic partnerships and optimize Nanoramic's® business structure. He acts as a project manager for all M&A initiatives and fundraising activity while maintaining communication with outside stakeholders.
Mitch Koffel
Chief Executive Officer of FastCAP Ultracapacitors (A subsidiary of Nanoramic Labs)
Mitch has spent over 25 years in the energy storage and battery markets. His focus has been working with OEM’s to design and develop energy storage systems for their products.
Christopher Deane
Executive Vice President of Manufacturing
After graduating from Boston University with a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Christopher started his career at a Fortune 100 company developing energy storage devices before joining Nanoramic®.
